Lake Sunapee is a beautiful lake in New Hampshire that offers extended families a wonderful locale for a family gathering and countless adventures.  Sunapee Harbor Cottages are quaint cottages located across the quiet road from the gazebo and a quarter of a mile up the road from the harbor. About a mile up the hill sits the Burkehaven Lodge, a reasonable, family-friendly, affordable motel.  The area also offers additional motels, camping and rental cottages.  Checking reviews at Trip Advisor will help you to select the right spot for your family group.

If you are looking for a reasonable, healthy adventure, plan an off-season bike tour of Martha's Vineyard.  Arrive at the ferry early in the morning with your bikes, helmets, adequate food, trail map, island map and layered clothing.

It will cost you about $12. for a round trip fare from the Woods Hole shore to Vineyard Haven. Then plan a reasonable ride for your family.

If you'd like to spend the night, book early with sites like Priceline, Kayak, Travelocity, Hotels.com or Expedia which will bring you a reasonable rate.  We had a terrific, affordable stay at the wonderful Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown.
